Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Focus Badger Web app, Desktop app, websites, downloads, subscriptions, support, and related services. The Code Craft LLC, doing business as Focus Badger, is responsible for the personal information described here. This Policy does not govern third-party services that process information under their own policies.

You can stop Desktop Enforcement from evaluating the current app or supported-browser domain by quitting or uninstalling the Desktop app or revoking its macOS permissions, but blocking features may no longer work.

Account and authentication data. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive identifiers and account information the provider makes available, such as your email address, display name, provider identity, and profile image. We receive authentication tokens, not your Google or Apple password.

Profile, settings, and user content. We collect onboarding answers, Blocking preferences, selected app and website targets, focus intent, Session todos, and other information you submit or configure.

Local Enforcement data. While the Desktop app is running, it can process the foreground app name and bundle identifier or the website domain for a supported browser to decide whether a selected Blocking rule applies. A full browser URL may be processed locally to extract a domain. Focus Badger does not upload general foreground-app or browsing history for reporting and does not intentionally collect screen contents, screenshots, keystrokes, window titles, or the text you type in other apps.

Retired Workday reporting data. Before July 23, 2026, Focus Badger collected account-linked Activity Intervals and Workday Events, including app or website identifiers, idle or away intervals, blocked attempts, bypasses, and Focus transitions, to provide Workday reports. That collection has stopped. Previously collected evidence was deleted from the active production database, and the reporting storage schema was removed, on July 23, 2026.

Voice and AI feature data. If you use Voice todo capture, the Desktop app records audio only while you activate that feature. Apple Speech Recognition processes the audio to produce a transcript. The temporary audio file is deleted after transcription or cancellation and is not uploaded to Focus Badger's servers. The transcript or typed focus intent is sent to our service and processed through Vercel's AI infrastructure and OpenAI to shape Session todos.

Billing data. We receive subscription and transaction metadata from RevenueCat and Stripe, such as purchaser identifiers, product, entitlement, status, renewal or expiration time, transaction events, and limited payment details. Stripe processes full payment-card information; Focus Badger does not store full card numbers.

Technical, diagnostic, analytics, and advertising-measurement data. Our apps and service providers may automatically receive IP address, browser or device type, operating-system and app version, request time, referring page, cookie or session identifiers, update requests, crash or error details, security logs, and product events such as landing, download, sign-in, onboarding, paywall, checkout, purchase, and confirmation steps. After sign-in, analytics or purchase events may be associated with your account identifier or a one-way hashed version of your email or account identifier. Local diagnostics are designed to avoid full URLs and other unnecessary content.

Communications. We collect messages and contact information when you contact support, request a refund, respond to a survey, or otherwise communicate with us.

We collect information directly from you; automatically from the Web and Desktop apps; from the Google or Apple sign-in provider you choose; from Stripe and RevenueCat for billing; and from service providers that help us operate, secure, and support Focus Badger.

We use personal information to provide, personalize, and maintain Focus Badger; authenticate accounts and transfer sessions to the Desktop app; apply Blocking rules; synchronize Focus sessions and Session todos; process subscriptions and entitlements; deliver downloads and updates; measure conversion and onboarding drop-off; attribute and improve our own advertising; provide support; prevent fraud and abuse; diagnose failures; secure the service; comply with law; and enforce our agreements.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information to understand and improve the service where it cannot reasonably identify you. We do not use the contents of other apps or full browsing history for third-party advertising.

Where European or UK data-protection law applies, we process account information, user content, settings, and billing information as needed to perform our contract with you. We process security, limited diagnostics, product improvement, support, and fraud prevention for our legitimate interests in operating a safe and useful service. We process information to comply with legal obligations when required, and we rely on consent where law requires it, including for device permissions or optional communications.

You may withdraw consent at any time, but withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. If information is required to provide a feature, choosing not to provide it means that feature may not work.

We disclose personal information only as needed for the purposes above, including to the following recipients:

• Supabase for authentication, database hosting, and account-linked product data.
• Vercel and other hosting or infrastructure providers that deliver the Web app, APIs, and AI requests.
• Cloudflare and related distribution providers for Desktop downloads and software updates.
• RevenueCat and Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, entitlements, billing management, and transaction records.
• Google or Apple when you choose that sign-in provider, and Apple when you use Apple Speech Recognition.
• OpenAI, directly or through Vercel's AI infrastructure, when you ask Focus Badger to shape typed or transcribed focus intent into Session todos.
• PostHog for product analytics and conversion-funnel measurement.
• Meta Platforms for advertising attribution and measurement through Meta Pixel and Conversions API. We may provide page or funnel actions, technical identifiers, hashed account identifiers, and limited purchase metadata. We do not provide focus intent, Session todos, browsing history, screen contents, or full payment-card information to Meta.
• Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, and authorities when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, or establish and defend legal claims.
• A buyer, investor, successor, or adviser in a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements.

We do not sell your personal information. We use Meta advertising tools to measure and improve ads for Focus Badger. Some privacy laws may define the resulting disclosure of browser, page, funnel, or conversion data as “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or “cross-context behavioral advertising.” We do not use or disclose focus intent, Session todos, browsing history, screen contents, or full payment-card information for advertising, and we do not disclose them to data brokers or advertisers.

The browser integration respects enabled Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Depending on where you live, you may also contact us to exercise an opt-out or other privacy right described below.

We retain account information, settings, user content, billing records, and support records while your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet the purposes described in this Policy.

Historical Activity Intervals, Workday Events, and Workday settings were deleted from the active production database on July 23, 2026. Focus Badger no longer retains them as active product data. Transient backup copies age out under our infrastructure provider's backup-retention process and are not used to provide reporting.

After account closure or a verified deletion request, we delete or de-identify personal information unless we need to retain it for billing and tax records, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, enforcing agreements, backup integrity, or another legal obligation. Retention then depends on the type of record, legal limitation periods, contractual requirements, sensitivity, and the time needed for backups to cycle out.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed for the nature of the information we process. These include authenticated access, encrypted network transport, database access controls, and limiting uploaded browser activity to domains rather than full URLs. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access or loss will never occur.

You can manage macOS Accessibility, microphone, and speech-recognition permissions in System Settings; manage your subscription through Settings; and quit or uninstall the Desktop app to stop future Desktop collection. These choices may limit the service.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal information; receive a portable copy; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising; and appeal a denied request. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

You can request account deletion by emailing hello@focus-badger.com from the address associated with your account. Self-service account deletion is planned but not currently available. You may use the same email address to make another privacy request. We may verify your identity and authority before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request where law permits, but we may require proof of authorization and identity. Some rights have legal exceptions.

Focus Badger and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where privacy laws differ from those where you live. Where required, we rely on approved contractual safeguards, adequacy decisions, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

We may update this Policy as the service or law changes. We will post the updated version and revise the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice or request consent when required.
